Product Description

Large Cutting or Charcuterie Board. Made from Central American Granadillo and Gaboon Ebony. One of a kind board.

Granadillo is an exotic wood that is bright red to reddish or purplish brown, with rather distinct stripes. It is hard and superior to Teak and probably Mahogany. The wood is exceptionally heavy. It weighs much more than Hard maple or Teak in the green or seasoned condition. The density of the wood is very high.  Granadillo is informally considered a type of rosewood. Sonically, it’s comparable to Indian rosewood, but it’s harder and denser, yielding an additional bell-like ring. The wood traditionally has been used for marimba bars because of its clear, chimey tone.

Gaboon Ebony is an exotic wood native to Western Africa. It is an extremely hard, dense, and heavy wood, with a very fine texture.
